I help adult individuals and couples -- as well as youth and their parents -- with issues such as anxiety, self-esteem difficulties, depression, relationship problems, and a host of other issues. I do not only focus on helping you to feel better in the moment (which is important), but I also focus on helping you resolve the root causes of your difficulties.
I have substantial training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), an evidenced-based model that when practiced with skill, flexibility, and compassion, holds out tremendous potential for healing and growth. ISTDP is an attachment-centered model that at its core is about emotional intimacy and closeness and repairing the wounds caused by relational ruptures. My work is also skills-based, which means that you will leave with concrete skills aimed at improving the odds that you will get your needs met in your relationships.
