DBT Skills are for Everyone
I believe DBT skills are helpful for everyone. This is a DBT-Based skills group and NOT a traditional DBT group that includes regular access/phone calls to group therapists. DBT founder, Dr. Marsha Linehan notes, "A diagnosis of a mental disorder is not required, however, to benefit from DBT skills". DBT-based skills training has been so valuable to people, even outside traditional DBT programs, that I'm excited to increase access to such helpful psychological tools through this group. It will focus on skills from the four main DBT modules: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance.
