Fundamental to my work is my view of the therapeutic relationship as a profound and unique agent of change and healing in human beings. I seek to be genuine and to honor each client I work with. I have 23 years of experience working with children, couples, adult individuals, and families. I have particular specialty in trauma and attachment difficulties, parenting issues, couples work, anxiety and depression, issues related to grief and loss, play therapy with children, sand tray work, and complex family system issues. I also use therapeutic art and other 'no talk' modalities.
I view each client I sit with as a unique being. My style as a therapist is deeply personal, reflective, and clinically based. In my attachment work with children, I utilize Daniel Hughes's dyadic developmental therapy. In couples work I draw from extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. I feel truly honored to help human beings who are in pain.
I deeply believe that lovingkindness truly is the essential therapeutic resource. I seek to listen deeply and well and to honor each client's unique experiences and perspectives. I highly value therapeutic art, improvisational games, sand tray work, and other expressive interventions, and I utilize these when my clients feel open to them.
