Many of my clients have led very successful lives, either in school, at work, or at home. They are highly resilient, resourceful, hard working, and strong, which is why they can't explain the anxiety or depression that keeps bubbling up. They are hesitant to seek therapy because they don't want to tinker with what is working, yet they are feeling emotions that sometimes don't make sense or are hard to manage. They feel isolated because they believe they can't share these vulnerabilities with anyone else, either because they are ashamed of feeling them or because they may not be able to trust others with that information.
I use evidence-based therapies to help clients understand where these feelings are coming from, and how to get a handle on them. We address feelings they can't talk to anyone else about like guilt, shame, fear, insecurity, imposter syndrome, and self loathing. We work together to alleviate feelings of loneliness, isolation, anxiety, and feeling overwhelmed.
I'm a mental health professor and led an MA in MFT for 10 years. Now in university administration, I only keep a small practice. Most of my clients are professionals or students, and all sessions are online. I don't take insurance, but can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Please email me if interested, and this arrangement works for you.
