My approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate. I work actively in the here and now, paying close attention to the moment-to-moment shifts of the mind and how these shifts relate to perceptions of the present and to experiences from the past. By studying how your experiential world of emotion, cognition, and behavior is constructed and patterned, we can work together to find new ways for you to live, love, and relate in the world.
My integrative, relational approach honors the individual's subjective experience over impersonal diagnostic criteria and clinical theory. I work with individuals and couples in short and long-term psychotherapy to treat depression, anxiety, substance abuse, compulsive behaviors, sexual and gender identity questions, relationship problems, and issues of low self-esteem.
I completed a post-graduate certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and have also studied clinical hypnosis, cognitive-behavioral therapies, and couples therapy. I offer a variety of session times, including early morning, daytime, and evening, depending on the day of the week.
