I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I believe that our challenges and strengths emerge from a combination of our personality, biology, family upbringing, environment, stage of life, and current relationships. My goal as a therapist is to help individuals, couples, and families make sense of these influences and understand the context that affects them. My second goal is to support my clients in making the changes they want within this context. I collaborate with my clients to find what works for them in therapy be it validation, challenge, comfort, support, guidance, or a good laugh.
As a couple and family therapist, I work with any type of relationship you can imagine including: individuals, children, teens, and couples. I believe that we can get stuck in negative patterns in our relationships and that going to therapy together allows people to work as a team to break out of those unhelpful patterns. I also specialize in sex therapy.
I am the co-owner of Empathway Counseling, LLC. I know how intimidating it can be to find a therapist. I am very collaborative and want clients to find the right "fit" in the therapist they choose to work with. Groups
Enrich Your Relationship: Couples Workshop Series
Join us throughout the summer for a group relationship workshop series. These groups are for couples looking to improve their relationship in several different areas. There will be four, 90-minute workshops held throughout the summer for couples in all stages of relationship. Workshop 1: Communication; Workshop 2: Conflict Management; Workshop 3: Enhancing Physical and Sexual Intimacy; Workshop 4: Financial Communication. These workshops will be psychoeducational and experiential and each couple will receive individualized feedback from a Licensed Couple and Family Therapist. Couples from all backgrounds are welcome!
