For 20 years I have had the great privilege of being a therapist, and, for much of that time, I also offered organizational and clinical leadership to mental health and treatment programs. Now, however, I offer depth- oriented therapy with the belief that complex problems require complex understanding and attention. I collaborate with you to identify what it is you really want for yourself. I partner with you in gaining meaningful insight into yourself and your situation. For many clients, this is the beginning of significant shifts that supports you, not only in the issue that brought you to therapy, but in many areas of your life.
In therapy, I primarily work from the Neuroaffective Relational Model which is designed to explore the complex patterns we develop when our needs aren't met or we are hurt or abused. Additionally, after years of experience in treating challenging issues, I offer consultation and support to families affected by substance use disorders or mental illness.
Although many people find ways to survive, or perhaps even thrive, despite less than ideal circumstances, the strategies that helped us in one area may be creating problems in another. Or, maybe, they've just stopped working all together. With genuine healing, these strategies become less necessary. I would love to support you in this work.
