Don’s passion to come along side others in the capacity of a professional counselor is an outgrowth of his life transformations occurring from his own counseling through his ilife experiences. Don is a “life veteran” who recovered from a divorce, raising two sons on his own as well as other personal life struggles requiring him to acknowledge first hand how the counseling process brings about effectual positive movement away from difficult circumstances. Don received his counseling degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he had the opportunity to incorporate Christian spirituality into his mental health practices.
Don works to provide a safe space where clients can explore thoughts, feelings and behaviors as they move toward resolving the issues bringing them into counseling. Don understands that each person and their circumstances are unique, so the counseling is designed to meet needs of the client, then taylor the counseling to what is beneficial for each client.
Don’s training is to help clients trying to work through life adjustments like divorce, grief, parenting and attachment circumstances, where depression, anxiety, anger and distress are occurring. Working with couples in their relationship is of great interest to Don as a result of 25 yrs of ministry work to the separated, divorced and couples in conflict.
