There is a crisis of meaning and purpose in our society and far too few communities of support to guide us through the difficulties of modern life. I work with clients using psychodynamic, interpersonal and mindfulness-based approaches to help people move from lives of loneliness and alienation to lives of connection and purpose. Creating a safe and nurturing relationship with my clients is of primary importance in my work.
Areas of specialty: Depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, navigating college, 12-step recovery, trauma, spiritual and creative exploration, sports performance, and end of life issues. My approach changes based on the needs of individual clients and can range from short/brief psychotherapy to long-term psychodynamic, insight-oriented therapy.
I enjoy working with people in transition, whether it be students heading off to college, twenty-somethings learning to live as adults in the world, people entering into new relationships or professions, or those in later stages of life who are letting go of their identities (as professionals, as parents, etc.) and seeking out new ways of being.
