Our lives can lead us to existential confusion, self-doubt, and seeming psychological impasses that can affect our relationships, careers, creative life, and health. Patterns of behavior can seem intractable, and past trauma can resurface in the present, making managing day-to-day stressors a burden. I will collaborate with you on cultivating a non-judgmental curiosity about your experience, both past and present, and on finding more freedom and agency to lead life in a fulfilling and healthy way.
I work from a critical psychology/social justice perspective, and am trained in a variety of modalities, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, focusing-oriented psychotherapy, mindfulness, mentalization-based therapy, and CBT. I have published and presented professionally on the topic of working with severe mental illness in community settings.
In addition, I have experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities, which has empowered me to address a broad range of mental health challenges, from severe mental illnesses to struggles of personal growth.
