As a therapist for nearly 30 years, I have worked with many people on a variety of different issues including, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, PTSD, an early or recent history of trauma, relationship issues, and others. My approach focuses on establishing a safe and peaceful place for clients to process through past or present issues. And then, work with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment, which usually includes healthy coping methods for stress, anxiety and mood management, using relaxation, meditation, stress-management, and if therapeutically necessary, EMDR.
I specialize in trauma and anxiety work and resolution, and I am a Level II certified EMDR therapist, with 20 years of experience using EMDR. Although it was originally developed for treatment of PTSD, EMDR has been found to be very beneficial for many issues including anxieties, fears and depression.
I believe in a holistic approach to therapy and life, that the body, mind and spirit are all working together and interconnected. The several years I lived in Japan strongly influenced this approach and continues to do so.
