Meditation and mindfulness have been crucial to my personal healing and I incorporate them into my approach so that we can practice relating to difficult emotions, patterns, and sensitive stories with curiosity and compassion. In doing so, we can learn to cultivate self-awareness, manage stress, and overcome challenging thought patterns.
I work with adults and adolescents and know that the clinical setting can be off putting for many adolescents. That is why I make room to incorporate their passions and interests into sessions so they know their authentic selves are welcome. I have integrated art, nature, and skateboarding into the counseling relationship to help create a safe environment.
