The focus in DBT treatment is "radical" acceptance of oneself, while learning behavioral skills specifically designed to help overcome emotional vulnerability and to build a life worth living. Dialectical Behavior Therapy was designed for chronically suicidal and self-harming adults, and has been adapted to treat teens and adults with co-occurring; Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD and Anxiety. DBT is an evidence-based means of treating impulsivity, suicidal thought & attempts, self-harm, eating disorders and substance abuse/addiction.
