No matter what path we take in life, we will be met with suffering and hardship along the way. This is a natural aspect of the human condition. My goal as a Therapist is to assist you with identifying how your suffering manifests (whether it be due to depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, life change etc.) and the variety of ways in which you can cope with the distressing situations in your life.
I work out of a cognitive behavioral/mindfulness framework and am a proponent of meeting one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors with curiosity and open-mindedness. I can help you develop insight into maladaptive thinking patterns and provide you with strategies for becoming grounded in the present moment.

Join this group to learn about strategies for noticing and managing the difficult thoughts and feelings that come up throughout this health experience. Through this group you will get a foundational understanding of one therapeutic modality that can be particularly helpful in the management of ongoing health issues: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Many modalities seek symptom reduction as an outcome of the treatment, however with ongoing health issues, symptom reduction may not be a realistic or appropriate end goal. As such, the ACT approach of pursuing what is important and fulfilling in the presence of symptoms emerges as a more realistic, albeit challenging, endeavor.
