While we can't change difficult situations of the past or present, we can work together to better understand those experiences and how they may be affecting your life today. By utilizing a variety of complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
I work with adults and mature adolescents. I have a special interest in Trauma Recovery work and am a member of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISSTS) and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD).
My counseling style is based in humanistic, psychodynamic, feminist, and existential orientations; however, I utilize a variety of other techniques (i.e. EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness skills training) within sessions as appropriate.
