Effective counseling is all about connection. We seek to be understood, to be known, and to share life with someone else. Counseling provides a safe place to try out ways of connecting with another person, with ourselves, and with our world without fear of hurting others or our own reputation in the process. The majority of my clients come to me wanting to work on navigating life with differences of gender identity and sexuality; taking time to share in a safe place is vitally important.
As a licensed counselor in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, my nearly 20 years of experience have helped me cultivate a strategy of tailoring counseling to each person; ultimately it is about what works for you! Clinically I am primarily an ACT therapist, but I use many other modalities (e.g. IFS, DBT and CBT) to individually help clients achieve their goals.
Throughout the process I will take time to fully explain the methods and the expected results to help you feel comfortable with the process. The result: a strong rapport and connection that helps each client draw connections in themselves to help deepen connections with others to achieve greater joy in life.
