The clientele who I primarily work with are struggling with anxious and/or depressive symptoms related to life transitions or general mood related disorders. Together, we formulate therapeutic goals with the aim of reducing the symptomatic complaints. Sometimes the process is as simple as reframing perspective and other times, more trauma and attachment work is involved. The path makes itself clear as the therapeutic relationship develops and the client leads the way in terms of readiness and personal needs.
I incorporate mindfulness techniques, compassionate listening, supportive interpretations and acceptance-commitment therapy in my work with clients. I help clients garner insight and self awareness so they may adopt healthy coping mechanisms and change the maladaptive cognitive and behavioral patterns that are no longer serving them.
Attending therapy is a vulnerable process. It requires great strength to reach out to someone for help. I consider it a privilege to be given access to one's innermost world. I approach my clients with ultimate regard compassion, and non-judgement. Through the therapeutic experience, the aim is to cultivate these qualities within the patient for themselves.
