I believe that individuals are an expert on themselves and strive towards treating each patient with respect. I work with individuals who are suffering from a life stressors that result from relational, educational or occupational issues. I help patients learn to to live productive lives with a serious mental illness. I provide couples counseling to improve communication, build or restore trust. It is my hope to improve the quality of my patient's life through counseling.
I worked with adults and adolescents who struggled with Eating Disorders at Alabama Psychiatric Services for six years and continue to treat many of these individuals with individual and family counseling. I work with my patients on seeing that their Eating Disorder is separate from their identity.
I am excited to have a certification in EMDR and have enjoyed seeing individuals experience a sense of freedom from traumatic experiences that haunted them for years. I would like for people viewing this site to know that I enjoy working with couples.
