I believe understanding the impact of your experiences can help you more deeply connect to the meaning of distressing patterns and symptoms and open space to make change. In being curious together about your inner experience and interpersonal encounters we can identify barriers to your goals, deepen self awareness, and strengthen your internal resources. I specialize in integrating verbal psychotherapy with visual art making and other creative practices and I have experience providing trauma focused therapy.
Integrating art into psychotherapy can open new ways to express and engage with your experiences, especially things that seem hard to say or do not yet have words. Images can be used to elaborate on areas of work that feel stuck or inaccessible. Many individuals also find art making in therapy useful to expand grounding, regulating and mindful practices.
Art making is one option that can be utilized at any time and is not a requirement for engaging in treatment with me.
