Sometimes, all the "stuff" in life can leave us feeling burnt out, stuck, anxious, or depressed. It can easily lead to a desire to isolate, irritability, and avoidance. Maybe there was an event or events in your life that makes life feel more difficult. Maybe it's the "too much." Either way, we can work together to teach your body to manage more effectively. Because hour-a-week sessions can be difficult for some people to schedule, I offer intensive EMDR. With this model, we will work through your struggle in a 1-2 day chunk of time. This model allows for more efficient emdr as well as easier scheduling.
I utilize a natural processing approach to EMDR. We spend time understanding how and why your body reacts to situations in the way that it does. We then process this reaction so that you can manage it more effectively. I believe that 80% of our reactions come from our body's response and 20% from our mental response.
I am EMDR certified and this is the primary therapy that I use. People who see me appreciate that I am authentic, down to earth and respect their voice. Therapy can be weird or scary for some and I am happy to explain the science and " whys" in order to make it more comfortable. I may say some 4 letter works, or call out the weird, that's just who I am.
