Over the years I have had the privilege to help individuals and families dealing with a range of problems, including trauma, grief and loss, addiction, mood disorders, anxiety, self-esteem and identity issues, and relationship difficulties, to name I few. I also provide psychological assessments for children and adolescents. I particularly specialize in assessing for Autism, learning and intellectual disabilities, and general diagnostic clarification.
Your success in therapy depends on our ability to collaborate effectively in setting and reaching treatment goals and aspirations. Therefore, what is paramount in my work is the importance of and focus on creating a safe, trusting, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. Without this in place, change cannot occur.
My approach to therapy is primarily informed by Advanced Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). AEDP seeks to create change through the undoing of aloneness that can occur from the consequences of the limitations of human relatedness. AEDP has roots in interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, emotion theory, and body-focused approaches.
