With a collaborative, creative and strengths-focused approach, I provide counseling to adults, teens, couples & families. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, impulsive behaviors, grief & loss, ADHD, and issues related to life transitions. I integrate strategies from short-term, practical therapy approaches with in-depth, relational approaches to form a flexible treatment tailored to the strengths, needs and goals of each client. My approach to therapy aims to not only reduce symptoms and problematic behaviors, but also aims for improvement within clients insight, self-esteem, relationships, and overall quality of life.
I have extensive training & experience in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a form of therapy that combines cognitive-behavioral therapy with Eastern meditation practices, & aims to help clients better manage emotions & develop more productive ways of thinking & relating to others.
I am also a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist through EMDRIA. EMDR therapy has been scientifically researched and proven to be an effective treatment for trauma and PTSD. Give me a call or email if you're interested in potentially working together!
