Are you stuck and needing to process childhood trauma? Is your child sad, anxious or angry, and you know they need help? Do you feel like no one understands the challenges of creating a family (infertility, perinatal loss, miscarriage, IVF, adoption)? I shifted careers into mental health counseling in 2016 after 20 years of community advocacy to address injustice and empower women, children, and communities. I am a healing-centered, trauma-focused therapist now because I believe you - and your family - deserve guidance and support to reimagine and re-author your life narrative.
I provide narrative and play therapy to safely process trauma (including child abuse, domestic violence, reproductive trauma, and more), cultivate self-compassion and a sense of agency. In therapy, I will listen for what you love, how you process (talk, play, creativity, other), and collaborate with you to pave a path forward to calm, clarity, and wellness.
Together, we will examine the dominant narratives of your life, the stories that often seem to jump from one difficulty to the next. We will uncover your strengths, resiliencies, the ways you’ve survived difficulty, and your unique skills. I’ll support you to imagine the life you want to be living, and I'll help you get there, one present moment at a time.
