I am trained as a psychoanalyst and practice a relational form of psychodynamic therapy that views the therapeutic relationship as the site of potential transformation. I often have success working with people who have had negative or lackluster experiences in previous therapies and those who are ambivalent about beginning therapy. I specialize in longterm relational work and in working with adult men and athletes.
My areas of clinical interest include: personality disorders, depression & mood disorders, anxiety, loss & bereavement, trauma - especially trauma occurring in the context of college fraternity structures - relationship & intimacy issues, creative/artistic blocks and issues specific to athletes and athletic performance, and individual & family transitions.
