An intention I carry in my work is to aid clients in healing their relationship with their bodies, whether because of experiences with childhood or complex trauma, from patterns of disordered eating, from being transgender or gender non-conforming, and/or living with chronic pain or chronic illness. All of these experiences can complicate our relationship with our body, but with a safe and supportive space like therapy, we can heal this relationship.
Clients are encouraged to take therapy at their pace and honor boundaries. We begin with a full assessment of your history, work on recognizing the impact of trauma on your life, work on coping skills and improving relationships with others, uncover internal strengths, empower your intuitive voice, and learn to be safe in your body again through mindfulness.
In our first session I ask a lot of questions, but also do a lot of listening. I am curious about learning your story and provide a safe space to feel seen, heard and validated. I support you as you heal from traumatic experiences, repair your relationship with your body, experiment with new coping skills and reframe perspectives to identify strengths.
