Does the word "Therapy" give you a weird feeling? I use to think the same way, until I personally went to see a therapist. If you feel the same way that I did, I completely understand. My approach as a therapist, is to create a comfortable safe space to have those difficult conversations. I bring 100% authentic self to session. My therapeutical approach is that of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy. I utilize other modalities, such as self disclosure.
I begin each session with a get to know each other approach. The first session can be nervous for some. I like to make my client's feel comfortable and ready to process their feeling, emotions and concerns. There are no issues that cannot be discussed in session. I put my client's in the driver seat and allow them to take me where they need to go.
