Dr. Zia completed her residency training at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Meharry Medical College, Nashville, Tennessee. She did her fellowship from University of Texas Southwestern Medial School, Dallas, TX in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Zia uses clinical interview, reviews your past psychiatric and medical history as well as family history to establish a diagnosis. Further lab work, including genetic testing is used as needed to rule out medical conditions and create a treatment plan which will best help patient. Dr Zia uses a team approach involving psychiatrist, therapist and family.
