Therapy Groups: 1 to 11

Dual Diagnosis Therapy Groups
Dual diagnosis (also called co-occurring disorders, COD) occurs when clients suffer from a mental illness while also experiencing a substance abuse problem. Diagnosing a psychiatric disorder in someone with a substance abuse issue is challenging as the drug abuse itself can often produce psychiatric symptoms. These dual diagnosis Therapy Groups in North Carolina (NC) may provide dual diagnosis programs, dual diagnosis facilities or North Carolina (NC) dual diagnosis treatment - dual diagnosis rehab may be relevant. A Therapy Group can help provide support or connect you to a North Carolina (NC) COD network or support group.

North Carolina (NC) Support Groups and Group Therapy
Group therapy takes many forms. The groups are variously referred to (often interchangeably) as North Carolina (NC) counseling groups, North Carolina (NC) support groups, North Carolina (NC) mutual support groups or peer support groups, self help groups, stress coping groups, workshops and mental health groups. They are moderated by a professional group counselor, group therapist or group psychologist and generally focus on a specific issue or client profile (e.g. men or women etc).

Before joining a North Carolina (NC) support group, first see if the issue focus is consistent with your needs. If there are no groups offering support around your issue, feel free to contact these professionals in North Carolina (NC) to ask for a referral to alternative groups nearby.
