EMDR Therapy Groups
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.

If you're looking for EMDR therapy in Saint Louis or for a Saint Louis EMDR therapist these professionals provide EMDR therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing and EMDR treatment. They include EMDR therapists, EMDR psychologists, EMDR psychotherapists, and EMDR counselors.

Saint Louis Support Groups and Group Therapy
Group therapy takes many forms. The groups are variously referred to (often interchangeably) as Saint Louis counseling groups, Saint Louis support groups, Saint Louis mutual support groups or peer support groups, self help groups, stress coping groups, workshops and mental health groups. They are moderated by a professional group counselor, group therapist or group psychologist and generally focus on a specific issue or client profile (e.g. men or women etc).

Before joining a Saint Louis support group, first see if the issue focus is consistent with your needs. If there are no groups offering support around your issue, feel free to contact these professionals in Saint Louis to ask for a referral to alternative groups nearby.
