Welcome to my practice! I am a licensed psychologist, working in private practice since 1995 in the state of FLorida. As a therapist, I specialize in the treatment of individuals with depression, anxiety, chronic pain, eating disorders and addictive behaviors. I help individuals identify and express difficult emotions utilizing mindfulness, mindful self-compassion and Nonviolent Communication. I am certified to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), trained to teach Mindful Self Compassion (MSC), and I am a registered Nonviolent Communication Trainer Candidate with the Center for Nonviolent Communication.
My therapeutic orientation is predominantly mindfulness-based. A regular practice of nonjudgmental awareness has proven effective in reducing stress and increasing happiness in our lives. By attending to our thoughts, feelings, and body sensations, we can gain insight into the root causes of our suffering, and then learn how to care for ourselves.
I am certified to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) by the Center For Mindfulness at UMASS medical school, and I am a Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) Teacher In Training at the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. Please visit our website at www.southfloridapsychology.com
