Despite huge advances in modern technologies to extend life expectancy and increase physical comfort we have made only modest progress in relieving human psychological suffering that manifests as mood disorders and anxiety. It appears that many of our attempts to "fix" ourselves frequently backfire. My approach is highly collaborative and uses the most up to date discoveries in the field of behavioral science to help you "have a mind without your mind having you". Together we can help you gain flexibility that reduces suffering and learn skills that increase values-based living.
I am trained in a wide range of cognitive-behavioral therapies for mood and anxiety disorders, including some of the newest approaches that emphasize mindfulness and acceptance strategies. My primary professional community is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I work with adults individually and in groups. Although I am not on any insurance panels, I can submit claims for you to obtain whatever out of network benefits and reimbursements you have coming. I offer telephone and email/text coaching to help clients develop skills when that is indicated.

Radically Open DBT Skills Group
Radically Open DBT is an alternative form of DBT that targets people with problems of over-control. Although transdiagnostic in focus, RO DBT is often helpful for those with a diagnosis of Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder and Recurrent Major Depression, where the condition manifests with chronic loneliness and disconnection. The group is structured as a "class" and participants learn skills of openness, flexibility and social connection over the course of 30 weeks of lessons.
