People come to therapy when they feel ready. Often they have gained some insight and are consciously seeking a happier, more balanced life. Many people are aware of a need for healing narcissistic abuse from family, partners or in the work environment. The motivation it takes to make that first phone call is a major step towards positive change. My style is interpersonal, supportive, open and communicative. Most people appreciate guidance, direction and practical feedback. I encourage exploration of unconscious repetitive patterns in relationships and making changes wherever possible.
Anxiety, self-esteem issues, addictions, co-dependency, and/or difficulty forming and maintaining relationships are incentive for seeking therapy. I encourage recognizing ineffective behavioral patterns and making changes through self-acceptance. I encourage open communication with couples, recognizing power struggles, setting boundaries and building trust.
I understand how difficult it can be to ask for help. I want to support you where you are at. I can integrate art therapy and hypnotherapy into our sessions or use them exclusively as primary treatments. I also work cognitively encouraging clients to change negative thought patterns and to strengthen your own capacity to direct yourself.

Adult Children of Narcissists
This ongoing, mixed gender, psychotherapy/support group explores the effect a narcissistic parent has on self esteem and relationships. It will examine dysfunctional, repetitive patterns learned in childhood and reenacted in adult life. The group will explore the origin of narcissism and why you continue to be drawn to controlling, self-absorbed people and how to break the habit. You will be able to recognize "red flags" to watch out for such as entitlement, exploitation and lack of empathy. You will learn to set and maintain appropriate boundaries and create lasting, reciprocal relationships.
