I’m Dr. Kate, the owner of Southlake Child and Family Therapy. DFW Child Magazine named me a "Mom-Approved Therapist". For over a decade, I have worked with children and families at Fort Worth landmarks such as Cook Children's Medical Center, ACH Child and Family Services, The Art Station, and TCU. Over the years, I have developed my interests and experience to become a local expert on solution-focused brief therapy for children and families, mindfulness, and hypnosis. I also teach as adjunct faculty at TCU, as well as being active in training other practitioners at the North Texas Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
Child and family therapy is an important resource that can be used for a variety of reasons. Many people call me for counseling when their child is experiencing problems. However, about 20% of families call me to improve their already healthy family dynamics.
My focus is improving the health of children by working with all aspects of their lives. This focus ranges from prenatal support to mothers, effective parenting, psychotherapy and skill building for children in individual/group settings, mental training for extracurricular activities, transitioning to young adulthood, family therapy, and teacher/coach training.
