Advance Counseling Center is an outpatient program within Advance Housing, Inc. that offers individuals and families an array of wellness services to support, enhance and improve their quality of life. All clinical staff use treatment interventions that incorporate research and evidenced-based practices. Group practice is informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT will help you or your loved on with ongoing conflicts in relationships; intense and rapid mood; difficulty stuffing emotions, then "blowing up" at others; inability to relax; impulsive or reactive decisions you often regret; avoiding responsibilities; and feeling overwhelmed.We have staff trained in Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT).
The basic premise of DBT is that some people are prone to experience emotions more intensely and react in more extreme manners to help regulate these emotions. DBT therapists work with clients to identify their personal strengths and help build on them to increase self-confidence.
Therapists at Advance Counseling Center are licensed, with a background in mindfulness, and a whole person approach to therapy. We are currently accepting referrals for individual, family, couples, and group therapy. We accept referrals for psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring with a licensed Psychiatrist.

Groups meet weekly. Appointments for new client assessments are available. M-F. This group is designed to help Individuals learn and use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. This group is run like a class, part of the group is spent on reviewing assignments, and part of the group is dedicated to learning skills. The four DBT Skills Modules are: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

NEW GROUP!!!!! Stress Management is a group that meets weekly in the evening for an eight-week series that focuses on developing tools to manage stress. Learn how to elicit your relaxation response by practicing breathing techniques, mindfulness, progressive relaxation, and visualization. Learn coping strategies to deal with worrisome thoughts will also be a subject of discussion. Schedule an appointment for an individual assessment prior to starting the group. We are here to offer you support.
