Dr. Beran is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been providing evidence-based psychological care to individuals for the last 17 years. She received her PhD from the nation’s most highly rated clinical psychology program, UCLA, where she gained extensive experience helping people with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, chronic illness, trauma, and grief. A firm believer that academic knowledge is only part of what makes a quality therapist, Dr. Beran combines her in-depth psychological training with warmth, humor, and affection for her clients.
In addition to her traditional training, Dr. Beran has also studied many forms of holistic, mindbody therapies and is an experienced meditator and meditation teacher. She has worked extensively with cancer patients and has served as a Staff Psychologist at the nationally-recognized UCLA Simms/Mann Cancer Center and as well as the Clinical Supervisor of ARCW.
Dr. Beran’s commitment to science is combined with an awareness that there is much that science does not yet understand. For many, faith-based or spiritual beliefs fall into this category, and Dr. Beran seeks to integrate such beliefs and values into the therapeutic space when that is desired by her clients.
