One sign you may be ready for therapy is if you’re feeling really tired of how things are. Tired of feeling depressed and hopeless, tired of feeling alone or afraid. Tired of poor sleep, tired of imagining losing your job or your family. Tired of all the conflict with your partner, of trying to control them, control an addiction, control your painful thoughts and feelings. Maybe you’re not sure: are you ready to change anything? Is it even possible to change it? How? I’d recommend saving those important questions for later. The first thing is: are you willing to ask for help?
The main way I can help is to listen to you, with compassion and care. There are other interventions which can be added to talk therapy, like EMDR, IFS, mindfulness, etc. We will work together to find what works for you. But therapy is always about connecting to yourself and expressing what you’re experiencing to someone who is present and curious.
What you've already been through was hard enough, so the idea of bringing at up again in therapy may be overwhelming. But people often find some relief even after the first session. Consider reading the blog posts on my website (see link below) to learn more about my practice. For questions, or to go ahead and schedule, feel free to call or email me.

Trauma, anxiety, and depression are the most common things I help clients recover from. Compassionate talk therapy is the base of my approach, to which other interventions might be added (Mindfulness-based, EMDR, IFS, etc.), according to what we find works best. Clients often feel a sense of relief and more hope after one session. Steady progress toward genuine healing is the goal from there.

We'll work together to find the treatment that works best for you. Compassionate talk therapy is the base of what I provide, but sometimes, it's helpful to not just talk about experiences and feelings, but to let yourself actually feel them in the present moments of the session. EMDR, IFS, and pausing our conversation for mindful experiencing can help you get even more from each appointment.
