Making the decision to work with a therapist is a big deal. It takes courage to allow someone to see your vulnerabilities. You may be dealing with a crisis, loss or life transition. You may be feeling stuck, anxious, stressed, angry, depressed, grief-stricken or some combination of these. I will meet you with warmth, compassion, curiosity and will actively engage with you as you unfold these layers that are complicating your life. I believe you possess an inherent strength that has gotten you this far in life. Let me help bolster this strength that you might have forgotten about.
Has life taken you in a direction that you didn't envision? This is a common theme with the people I work with. Some feel like they are on a hamster wheel. Others feel they've hit an insurmountable roadblock. Our work will find ways to move you forward again.
My main areas of focus include Pregnancy Loss, Infertility, Grief, Depression, Anxiety, Caregiving, Degenerative illnesses associated with aging and Life Transitions. I encourage you to visit my website which gives more details about the clients I serve and how we will work together towards positive change.

Groups
Caregiver Support Group
Monthly online support group for family members and friends living in Alameda or Contra Costa Counties who are caring for an elderly relative/friend (age 60+). You must register before attending. Please call me or email me at Family Caregiver Alliance to register: 415.434.3388 x 334 or ahartrey@caregiver.org. Because space is limited, I'm not accepting people caring for someone with dementia. The Alzheimer's Association offers many caregiver support groups that fit this need.
