I assist clients in helping them manage the emotions they experience in their daily lives through a strengths-based approach. During times of high stress, self-care and emotional support help improve overall functioning. Clients are encouraged to focus on their ability to effectively cope with and manage emotions, process new experiences, and identify personal strengths. It is of the upmost importance to establish rapport and foster a safe environment for clients that encourages creative and verbal expression. Treatment plans are developed based on the client's areas of need.
My philosophy is to increase self-awareness in order to promote healing for facilitating stress reduction, improved quality of life, and to gain long-lasting well-being. Any or all may struggle with issues such as: managing behaviors, coping with trauma, improving self-confidence, academic difficulties, and interpersonal relationships.
Other services available include: supervision for individuals/groups seeking their ATR or LPC (in Virginia), therapeutic mentoring, group and family therapy, art therapy, crisis management, conflict resolution, behavior management, improved goal setting, and social/emotional guidance.
