I am currently offering in person sessions, pending availability on Thursdays, and virtual sessions daily. I work primarily with older adults and the younger adults in their lives. Many of my patients are experiencing challenges related to caregiving, retirement, changes in health, grandparenting issues, emerging cognitive changes, and associated stresses on relationships. I also see people coping with low self-esteem, depression and anxiety and other struggles that transcend aging.
My objective is to be respectful of my patient's life story and experience. I take a gentle, personable, interactive approach, using evidence based practices and supportive techniques. In addition to individual psychotherapy, I may offer group therapy and individual coaching for people caring for someone with dementia.
I am aware that an individual's challenges often occur in the context of a family or network of other medical professionals. With permission, and with deference to the patient's privacy and autonomy, I will speak with a spouse or child and/or consult with other providers, as appropriate.

Groups
Dementia Caregivers
Providing emotional and practical support to individuals caring for someone, typically a spouse, with dementia. Facilitated using a cognitive behavioral framework, group participants will be afforded a safe space in which to learn from and with one another best practices for coping with the emotional strain of caring for a loved one with dementia, as well as strategies for coping with difficult behaviors expressed by someone with dementia.
