Our Philosophy
At Nova Luna we believe that people who develop eating disorders are highly intuitive, sensitive, and creative individuals who have the capacity to emerge from their disorder with a sense of renewal, inspiration, and transformative wisdom. The development of an eating disorder is a deeply symbolic and intuitive attempt to meet, mediate, and control the internal dis-ease resulting from external events and life experiences that the person could not navigate at the time they occurred. In our program we invite our clients to develop their inherent gifts and talents and offer them the opportunity to express them within our program. We call this 'The Nova Luna Process'. Our Program
At the Nova Luna Center we believe that recovery can only occur if it holds personal meaning for those who are choosing it. We encourage our clients to envision a treatment process that holds significance for them and our multi-disciplinary team helps to infuse a healing narrative into that process. Nova Luna Center's compassionate, nurturing, and educated professionals treat each client with personal attention and care. We offer innovative & effective modalities to treat eating disorders, complex trauma and other co-occurring issues. Our programs are holistic, integrative, and evidence based utilizing nutrition counseling, individual, and group therapy. We emphasize treating the whole person by fostering awareness of the mind, body, and spirit connection. We offer day treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient therapy. Our Mission
Nova Luna Center's mission is to empower our clients on their journeys of healing and to do so in a fashion that allows them to find their own path to recovery. It's not about our therapists prescribing: 'this is how you have to do it'; but rather 'how do you need to do this to find yourself' and we provide all the tools for our clients to do so in their own fashion. Groups
Daily Group Sessions for NLC clients
Nova Luna clients partake in group therapy sessions as well as individual; the number of groups a client attends on a weekly basis depends on their treatment plan. Various groups are offered on a daily basis, from Process group and Expressive Arts to Body Image and Food & Feelings. Group topics are designed with our clients in mind and may vary throughout the year.
