My expertise is providing counseling services to children, adolescents, adults and families who are seeking trauma healing and resolution, desire to exploring more vulnerability, improving boundaries, developing a more secure identity and sense of self, shame resiliency, and learning to relate in a more compassionate way. With each client and/or family, I hope to provide a collaborative, peaceful, and confidential environment so healing can begin and ease can become a way of life.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and holistic. I specialize in Somatic Experiencing®, This method is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders. Somatic Experiencing® explores where an individual may be “stuck” in a fight, flight, or freeze response and works with an individual’s natural resilience to move through these “stuck” self-protective responses. At times, I use a blend of this approach with skills building from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness. I am also a Certified Daring Way Facilitator.
