My role as a counselor is to provide an environment of safety, trust and mutual respect with the individuals that I work with. I believe that the relationship between the counselor and the individual seeking help is the most important aspect that lends to healing.
I work with adults, adolescents, couples, families and groups. I believe that counseling can assist the individual to develop an awareness of their personal strengths, clarify problems and arrive at solutions to deal with life situations. I also offer individual and group supervision services to LGPCs.
I use an integrative or eclectic approach to counseling. This means that I borrow different ideas from numerous theories that are tailored to the individual seeking help. Most importantly, I stress the importance of the individual's personal involvement in developing goals that will encourage changes to lead to a healthier future.
