As a DBT therapist, I offer skills coaching to help you better understand and cope with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, social anxiety, and thought processes and behaviors that keep you stuck and prevent you from acquiring a quality of life worth living. I work with people diverse in socio-economic status, ethnicity, and gender orientation, Diversity is always welcome in my practice.
The DBT skills I will help you apply to your life are skills for effectively tolerating distressful situations, skills to effectively regulate painful emotions, and skills to help with relationship problems such as communication, and setting healthy boundaries. If you are dealing with chronic physical pain, I offer tools to help (meditation, breathing exs).
My approach will be honest, respectful and without judgement of you and the issues that bring you to therapy. A belief I hold in therapy is that only when we are able to accept without judgement of what is, can we then make healthy, effective changes in our lives.
