Life is very much like driving a car. We can't only focus on the destination, and we can't stare into the rearview mirror. Either of these actions would cause an accident, and most certainly distract us from our main goal - keeping our eyes on the road! In my practice, I take on the GPS role. The driver and the GPS are a team. This is where therapy is so helpful. The relationship between the client and the therapist is a most powerful one, involving trust and collaboration, whereby the client feels safe and supported.
I work with wonderful clients of all ages, especially adolescents and young adults (ages 12-25+) Treatment for any age focuses on the unique needs of each client. I use an eclectic approach. I also treat victims of Narcissistic abuse to aid in recovery from harmful and toxic relationships. I also supervise LACs towards hours for licensure.
My style is one of warmth and support, while challenging you to reach your individual needs and goals. I am non-judgmental and use humor often. You, as the client, drive the treatment. "It's All Relative" is a support and process group for "normative" children with a special needs sibling. Our group gives a voice to those children's common need to develop better social skills, reduce perfectionistic tones, and the solid message that they are not alone!
