I have worked with people from all walks of life for over two decades. I am goal-oriented, like to get to the point, and work with you to offer real-life solutions, instead of staying stuck in the past. Yes, I'm compassionate and gently curious too, but I like to get down to nitty-gritty and get you feeling better ASAP. I also have a degree in philosophy and enjoy helping people look for meaning in their lives if that is what they need to feel better about themselves
I am well versed in the pharmacology and neurobiology of addiction, alternative approaches to the 12 steps, anger management, CBT, the Matrix approach to addictions treatment (evidence based) and mindfulness-based approaches. I personally practice meditation and find it instrumental to my own well being.
I am constantly studying the newest research in counseling, mindfulness and neurobiology. I'm willing to admit when I don't know something but then motivated to learn more. I am unique, open, curious and not afraid to tell you what I think without being a "know-it-all."

Anger Management
10-week group will explore when anger is appropriate, the difference between assertiveness and aggressiveness, and how to differentiate between anger, fear and frustration. We?;(tm)ll practice being able to express ourselves so that others are able to truly hear us versus being intimidated or afraid. We?;(tm)ll use mindfulness skills to identify emotions and be able to ?;oejust feel?; these rather than reacting inappropriately. This group is not someone talking at you about how to be less angry. It?;(tm)s interactive and results in a real shift in how you experience and express the often helpful emotion of anger.
