I have been doing assessments for over 15 years in school settings and private practice. Consequently, I have a thorough, in-depth and broad understanding of the education system in Alberta. This provides me a unique awareness of effective and efficient strategies to support a child's learning success. I have worked with students ranging in ages from pre-school to young adults. It is important for individuals to understand their learning profile so effective and efficient strategies and modifications can be made accordingly, to enhance the individuals ability to meet their learning potential and support student advocacy.
Aside from learning issues, I have expertise in supporting a variety of mental health issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, learning, trauma, behaviour, parenting. I also provide professional development and workshops to teachers and school personnel to build capacity and enhance learning and understanding of student issues and concerns.
I have been an instructor at the University of Calgary Master's of Educational Psychology program for the past 6 years. I also engage in supervising interns from the program in the public education system. I am certified with Dr. Bruce Perry in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics to address issues with respect to childhood trauma and brain development.
