I am a psychologist working with adults and couples who also supervises other developing clinicians. I take the time to understand what's going on today within the larger context of your life and your goals. I feel this is an important first step in building a therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe, understood, and supported while doing the hard work of growing and changing.
I focus on what is effective in psychotherapy. I believe we have to work collaboratively, seeing myself as a resource or emotional coach as you work towards your goals. I work with a range of mental health and life challenges, and have a particular interest in issues of generalized anxiety, interpersonal problems, and emotion dysregulation.
I have a warm interpersonal style that blends attentiveness to pain with directness and humour. Clinicians under my supervision bring their own interpersonal styles, but we are all committed our clients as well as to our communities and to our own personal and professional growth.
