After working in psychiatric inpatient care, community mental health, and private practice I realized that I have a deep affection & passion for helping teens and adults realize their potential, create connections, and reacquaint themselves to their inner knowing and self. It is these wonderful youth and young adults who prompted the development of my own private practice, DC Psychological Services, as well as the community-building network of Sister, Sister. Helping youth & adults manage aspects of daily living, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, & family of origin issues is my specialty.
I offer psychological assessment and emotion-focused, attachment-based therapy. I like to find the root of difficulties underlying your symptoms so that healing and growth can occur. Therapeutic work with me often focuses on using insight-based techniques, and analysis of relationships & previous experiences, and the expression & processing of emotion.
It turns out that life is hard sometimes. I truly believe that everyone can benefit from therapy and come to understand themselves so that they can live the life they want.
