Therapy is something that can help anyone but certainly isn't 'one size fits all'. I've always compared therapy cooking the most elaborate meal...one clear goal, but many different steps, ingredients and changes to get there. Like cooking, you may have to adjust as you go, possibly changing therapists, changing the therapeutic modality or mixing several, adjusting the goal as you go if needed. My goal is to always work with you to find that perfect 'mixture' and adjusting as we go to ensure that the desired goal is met. It takes patience, some trial and error, and a willingness. No matter what the 'issue' is, we can adjust and adapt
I've had the privilege of working with many populations, which ultimately has allowed me to identify my strengths as a therapist. Whether you are working on interpersonal relationships, family conflict, romantic relationships, addictive behaviours, impulse control, or past trauma, I feel that I have a skillset to help achieve related goals.
Congratulations on taking one of the hardest first steps: seeking out help. I hope you feel proud of yourself! This is a big deal! The hardest part of therapy truly is starting. If we start being kinder and more patient with ourselves as we are with others, we can break down any 'big' challenges that feel impossible into something that feels possible.
