My goal is to help people navigate through life in a more positive and productive manner and believe my work and life experience could be of benefit to others. I am a cancer survivor and also live with a chronic autoimmune disorder. I understand how difficult life circumstances can be. My hope is to provide clients with skills that can help them manage the challenges they face and learn to thrive in spite of difficulty.
In addition to the treatment of anxiety and depression, I am trained in using CBT skills for acute and chronic illness/pain. I have also had significant experience with addictions and in teaching DBT coping skills. I have compassion for helping others cope with trauma and grief and loss and am trained in EMDR.
I am well acquainted with the difficulties of navigating the healthcare system both as a professional and as a patient. I approach counseling from both the clinical perspective and a Christian worldview. I integrate mind, body, and spirit and believe in the power of faith and community.
